Rental got beaned by a Buick SUV while driving home today. Highway traffic stopped suddenly in whiteout conditions. I got it slowed down in time. She didnt. Props to her for just grazing it and going in the ditch though.

Oiiiii... This hasn’t been my week, Oppo. The FoST was supposed to have been done last Thursday. It should be done tomorrow but we’ll see....I miss snow tires. And a manual. This CVT is a hunk of shit. And the TC is over aggressive and has gotten me stuck multiple times already by refusing to even let a bit of tire soon. But! It definitely didn’t stop me from almost spinning out at low speeds.

Honestly, every rental I’ve had has been a Nissan and they’re all hunks of shit. I hat e the brand because of my rental experience. Nissan Altima - the “blind date with a racist” of cars.

Not every rental is an Altima but every Altima is a rental. That’s been the case for me, anyway.

I see brand new Nissans that are already dented, scuffed, and overall hooptie-fied all over. They're the vehicle of choice for those that treat their cars like appliances. Nothing of value lost, thankfully

Will the rental company even notice? Maybe just try to drop it off, and worst case, you are still only out your deductible. But the no-fault accident thing is bull. Sorry this happened to you.

I decided to pay the extortionist rental insurance fees for my trip to Florida tomorrow, for the first time. Curious whether that means I’ve set myself up for a nasty accident along the way.

Tempted to go off-roading (or at least rugged back-ro ading) with whatever car I’ll have, since I no longer have to care about damages, but not that tempted.

Nah, it goes back tomorrow so I called them an d the cops immediately. The freeway was shut down so I had to clear out quickly. But everything is legally handled. Cops waved me out at the scene so no charges are pressed. Whatever. I just miss my ST :(

I would’ve, but that insurance was an extra 40$/day and I’m on day 8. My deductible is a maximum of 500$. Yeah, it would’ve saved me a couple bucks but not too much.

Can’t blame the woman for not paying attention to the most rental sp ec’d rental car of all time. A silver Altima lol. Ugh they’re so meh, blah, and what ever sad words you could describe it with.

Thanks. Oh I forgot the best bit - the car started acting up on the drive home. It stalled twice. No CELs or strange noises , jus t.....stalled. For safety reasons, according to the warning message.
